Our new corporate plan underlines the importance of resilience. That ability to withstand challenge is being powerfully demonstrated in our people, partners and communities during what remains an exceptionally difficult time for all housing providers and our customers.  

The resilience of our Group has enabled us to accomplish so much, this year. We are maintaining homes with a continued focus on the issues of damp and mould, doing all that we can to listen to customers, carry out assessments of our homes and act where necessary, to keep tenants safe. We are also investing in climate-conscious improvements to the energy-efficiency of our housing stock. 

We welcomed the first residents to our latest retirement living communities in the spring and continue to develop new, affordable homes to rent and houses for sale. We celebrated with this year’s apprenticeship cohort at their graduation in the summer and marked the anniversary of the launch of Homes Plus on 1 November, by hosting a successful conference for involved customers and board members.  

As we prepare for Christmas, we have introduced Warm Spaces in some of our community spaces and supported local food banks and charities through the Homes Plus My Community Fund. We are delighted that partners and suppliers have backed this initiative, making generous donations of children’s toys and treats.  Our money advice team continue to support our customers to maximise their household income, and are managing record levels of demand. 

I know that together, we have made a positive difference to many households in Staffordshire and Shropshire during what has been a challenging year. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
