A little help for our ‘Friends’

Community organisations do so much to support people and neighbourhoods. Usually run by volunteers, it’s where you’ll find amazing people who put their time and energy into making a difference where they live.

We like to support groups like these, where we can. So we were delighted to be able to donate litter-picking tools to the Friends of Essington.

This equipment was purchased by South Staffordshire Housing Association (SSHA) some time ago and has been loaned out to volunteers in Essington each year. We had a tidy up before work began to create a new reception area for visitors and improved facilities for our Customer Services team in our office in Acton Gate and knew just where to find the perfect permanent home for these tools.

We got in touch with the Friends of Essington and member Adrian Nicklin dropped in to collect the donation.

“Adrian and his fellow members do a huge amount for Essington and we know that their work is appreciated by our customers. We were very pleased to be able to do our bit to help the volunteers”, said Jan Goode, neighbourhoods director at Housing Plus Group.
