In a year when we faced a cost-of-living crisis, rising energy bills and a challenging operating environment, the positive difference that we make to homes, lives and communities, has been even more important. Working alongside our people to create this year’s report, it shows how the Group’s values inspired and guided all we did to adapt and respond to these challenges and perform well in 2022-23.
As families found it harder to manage financially, we provided crucial advice and support. We helped even more grass roots projects in our communities, invested in neighbourhoods and offered rewarding careers for local people, culminating in the accreditation of our Group as a Best Companies employer.
Together with highly-praised care in our communities, we delivered the reassurance of 24:7 assistive technology as well as residential nursing care.
Homes are at the heart of what we do and this year we built new homes with a range of tenures to meet local needs. We invested in our existing housing, too. As well as carrying out repairs and maintenance, we installed CO detectors to keep our customers safe and made homes more energy efficient.
Throughout this year we tried to ensure the voice of our tenants is heard in every part of our organisation, with a new Customer Partnership Panel and a range of ways to communicate feedback.
